Featuring guest speaker Secretary of State Esperanza “Hope” Andrade.  Secretary Andrade is Texas’ 107th Secretary of State.  Secretary Andrade will address the current state of the economy in Texas, our economic health and why Midland is the ideal city for new growth and development.

The Developers Forum is a unique opportunity for members of the development community to be introduced to the City of Midland, Texas.


The City will be hosting a day and a half workshop that will provide attendees with all the necessary information and resources to consider and evaluate the many development opportunities that exist throughout Midland.

The forum is free to registered attendees and will be held at the Midland Hilton Plaza.

Midland Ranked 22 Overall in Small Metro Areas

The 2011 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index has ranked Midland in the top 25 cities among the small U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth.  

The components are jobs, wages and salaries, and technology growth. 

According to the study, Midland is ranked in the top 15 in 5-year job growth, 1-year job growth, 5-year wages and salary growth and 1-year relative HT GDP growth.

The city showed improvement improving its overall ranking from 39 in 2010 to 22 this year.

Day 2

Half-day bus tour of Midland including landmarks, areas of interest, available land, downtown opportunities, etc.  Breakfast will be provided before tour and lunch at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center, prior to the conclusion.  Tour will be narrated by knowledgeable staff/stakeholders who can provide information on the various sites that will be visited.  Staff will then remain available for the rest of the day to meet individually with developers and discuss specific projects and concepts.
